Equipment insurance?
« on: January 13, 2015, 05:25:45 pm »
Been looking at equipment insurance and my brain is getting fried. It seems like one big gamble because there seems so many loop holes in all these insurance policy's that they can get out of paying you out! Being told about locked gates , is machines bolted down , if yes you need plant cover , if you bolt a standard washer to the van then your not covered ect ect. Does anybody know of a insurance company that talks sense with all these issues.

This is why I don't have home insurance anymore,
We had our bikes stolen from home and Lloyds TSB used every loop hole to avoid paying out.

All I want is that if my van got broken into my equipment is covered but this seems to be like asking for rocking horse s**t! They have said I can't have my machine bolted down because it's classed as plant if I do and not a portable washer so I said to them that it's bloody dangerous in an accident if a machine is just loose and more difficult to steal if bolted which they didn't seem to care about. They have said my van needs to be behind a lockable gate at night where as I can only park it on my drive where it always is. I'm gonna speak with gleaming tommorow to see what they offer

Ring round - water tanks are a stumbling point. Dirct line null and voided my insurance my policy with them when they realised that having insured my van with a drain jetter fitted. They said it made no odds if you carry water or not but the ability to do so. You have to watch these bastoodles. I get all my insurance from a broker on the high st who I can trust. Is it really worth paying a theft policy for a Łk washer ?

Thing is I'm gonna have 2 machines on board , 2 x 22inch whirlaways , 1 x 12 inch fsc , suitcase genny , hoses , lances , hotbox , gutter vac , carbon fibre tubes and various access equipment. Would destroy me if I had to replace all this equipment.

Just spoke to Gleaming and can't believe how easy and straight forward this process is with what looks like good quality , non expensive cover. Can not believe how cheap it is to get this cover
