Worlds gone mad......
« on: December 17, 2014, 10:24:47 pm »
What a day i've had today. I've been trying to get a pump sorted for my self build power wash machine. I've ordered and paid for a AV Pump, RCV3G25D-F7 (if that means anything to anyone) . Its a direct drive pump, 2500PSI  11.4 LPM pump, to go on my electric start 6.5HP Lifan. I'm still waiting for one supplier to get back to me with a few simple questions. Phone call and email. Just give up and wonder how they do business.

Anyway, i'm still struggling with a frame for it. Its going to be resident in a trailer,so one of them wheeled jobbys is no good and i've been eyeing them small carry frames. Here's one........

Some of you guys have give me other links (thanks) and they're all similar prices. Then, when you're not looking for a frame you find this..........

MIght as well buy that, sell the engine (or keep it as a spare) and scrap the alloy water pump !!!

And on another note i still have Interpump W140 (140 bar 12 LPM) that won't push through a snow foam bottle. Every other power washer i've got will push through the snow foam bottle, from cheap chinese one to high powered 3000+ PSI washers. The reason (i'm told) the W140 won't push through is because the snow foam attatchment may have the wrong nozzle on, and the pump is a bit sluggish. So, anyone know how to make a pump "unsluggish", and are there any variable snow foam nozzle sizes ? Oh,and would the fact the oil in the pump is the colour of milk have any bearing (pardon the pun) on it ?  ;D

If you have a sluggish pump then its usually the valves but the milky oil is the piston seals allowing water out of the pump head and into the crank case. Seals and valves needed. Why don't you just but a proper washer and have done

The engine on that waterpump is no good to you(as a pressure washer engine) It has a taper shaft. You need a "Q" shaft.

It's the shape of the orifice the shaft is inserted into.

To be honest i'm enjoying tinkering about and using my toolkit again. I'm making up the exact unit i want and it'll be going in my trailer. Plus  is i'm getting to know a bit more about them, so handy if anything goes wrong and i have a breakdown.

I have come to the conclusion that the people that deal in them know nothing about them. I rang up two companies yesterday with questions about the pumps they had for sale, they couldn't answer me. After a lot of head scratching from me i deduced that the wrong photographs where listed for the pump models, and eventually one of them went into the warehouse and took a pic of the pump in the box and emailed me it !!  ;D  Once i had made my choice i tried to buy it on the website and everytime i pressed "buy" and looked at my shopping cart the price had changed, spent half an hour thinking i was ordering the wrong pump emptying the basket and doing it again  ;D Before i realised there was something wrong, rang up to order and they said it was a mistake on the website. Anyway i ordered it on the phone. Whilst this was going a bloke rang me up to complain about a window clean i did yesterday on his house, transpires i don't clean his house, nor his road, nor his area. Simple mistake he made ringing the wrong window cleaning company ? Only thing was he'd rang my private number, which left me more confused.
And i've come home today to find an email from genpower asking me to ring them as they got my credit card details and phone number wrong, so i've just re ordered the pump !!!

I'll be having a breakdown myself at this rate !!  ;D

I've got myself an electric start motor just to make it easier, can't be doing with all that cord pulling if i don't have to. I'd have a look at them for a spare though, what pumps on them Rob and you you have a link or item number?
