Put one of the these on the outlet of the pump

Then on the other end, put a male hoselock fitting (after taking off the nut and olive)  ....

Are you not then limited to 30cm of space between pump and reel?

No, connect it up to a hose and hoselock type fitting (you can also buy longer ones, I used that link as an example)

Yeah, but that means having another connection. Another connection = another possibility for a leak.

Well yeah, 2 hoselock connections. The one connected to the pump won't leak
