I've had the day from hell - mostly down to the Gardiner Orange PU Hot Water hose I've used for the first time today in my CLX 27.

A friend said it was good and so I bought some with my new pole.

It's a joke. It coils up all the time meaning it gets caught around things on a customers property more than the normal hose - things like plant pots, gates, car tyres etc etc.

It also gets caught up in the microbore hose a lot aswell. I've never had the pole hose get snagged as much as today in my 4 years window cleaning.

Any ideas on how to get it to straighten out rather than it foiling up all the time?

Btw I don't use hot water but my  friend who uses it aswell doesn't use hot water.

I'm thinking of just binning it and buying standard hose.

The other option is hanging myself with it tonight.

Cheers,

Caleb

Use hot water?

And give it two weeks to break in, and then a further 6 months before its really good

But you wont need to replace it for about 2 - 3 years

Pu hose need a little time to "bed in" winter was probably not the best time to buy some unless using hot.

Aquadaptor pu is really good

To fix it.Fill the new hose with hot water from the hot tap. Then pull it up the street until its straight then let it cool or fill it with cold water while straight. Once cold  coil up loosely about 600 mm ring.No tightly.

My orange hose is a pain in this weather. Don't think its hot water hose though. Not sure whose hose it is, but its solid. I just throw it in van in 1 ball. I unplug then unwind when its bad

One of the things we have to do with Aquadapter hose is to uncoil it.

We have 'turned' it into a coil to pack it away, now we have to uncoil it when getting your pole out. It take a few seconds but stops it tangling up at the base of the pole.

Trick is to leave it coiled very large and not tiny so it gets coiled even more.

Sounds like the Aquadapter hose I had - trick with that was to stuff it in the nearest hedge and leave it there.

i use gardiners orange PU hot water hose with....yes you guessed it HOT WATER!! ;D ;D

I think its good tough hose that will last years as its very hardwearing.its similar to aqua-daptors pole hose.

some guys love it.some guys hate it.

i love it.much better than other pole hoses like streamline 5 for example IMO.

ive ordered some with my new extreme 25 which is getting delivered tomorrow(i hope!). :)
price higher/work harder!

I use mine with cold water , Place it in a bucket of hot water for 2-3 mins then coil up in big loops or what i do with mine over the weekend is not coil it at all and lay flat on garage floor .

PU Hose has a memory which it get when its coiled hot so need the same amount of heat to change, which is hotter that 65 degree  C and cool down while in the new shape. So if you use hot water never go over 65 degrees and al will be well with you PU hose. These hoses are coiled up at the factory while still hot hence the coil diameter memory they arrive with you. You just need to understand your tool`s properties.

Throw it away as soon as possible - you seem to be showing the early signs of Hose Taurettes.
