I get emails from a company called mustang cleaning supplies and seen this rinse aid for £5 odd and with all the additives that seem to be coming out I just wondered if anyone's tried this stuff!

You sure could. See if it works. Only difference is a dish washer uses hot to wash. Then again cold to finish

Tried quite a few dishwasher rinse aids they reduced the spotting
by a small amount but not by anything significant

Perhaps you should try DI. purified water, that'll sort the spotting out.

Was looking for a way to deal with hydrophobic glass at the time..just
bladed in the end.

Rain water harvesting has defo solved any issue though and at this
time I only blade the odd problem window...must admit I am in
the train of thought now of going back to using my DI in the summer
I enjoyed messing around over the last year looking for ways to not
line suppliers pockets but I have found a compromise im happy with.

At least I know if anything goes wrong for example we go through a dry
period or something goes wrong with the Di I can carry on working
regardless until the problem is sorted

To be honest Gary out of all these posts on additives your the only person who has given a sensible
reason for giving them a try.
Have to agree something that would allow the glass to dry quicker especially at this time of year would be a benefit
to us all.
Frosty day would be another good example as you would have less beads of water freezing on the glass.

 Oih I was eating my rice krispies when I read this post...are you trying to kill
me...I nearly choked to death

  Seriously I really do think conditions we clean in have a direct effect
on the finish and hydrophobic glass is at times a pain I personally think if
you could get an hydrophilic drying effect on all glass the effect of certain
weather conditions or road pollution etc would be lessened.

I feel sorry for the poor buggers who work in coastal areas at least
I don't have to deal with salt/sea spray must be a constant battle
