Anyone use one of these?
« on: December 06, 2014, 02:00:34 pm »
http://www.thecleaningwarehouse.co.uk/g-xtel-water-fed-pole-40ft-4343-p.asp

I've been using a Gardiners SLX 25ft for last 3 years but just wanted a back up pole for higher work so I brought this for £252 last week! I knew it would be heavier than Slx but didn't think it would be as heavy as it is wow! I haven't used it for work yet so I'm wondering if anyone else uses one if so how do you rate it?

Bad buy mate not only does it weigh a ton but its as whippy as hell, I only wish you had asked before buying
as your money would have been better spent on extensions for your SLX25 to bring it up to 40ft.
Sorry mate but it was one of the best days of my life when I got rid of that type of pole.

It's ok for the odd job, it's not like you are going to use it all day everyday! I have used a lot worse!

My mate has one & I'd be lying to you if I said they were anything other than complete rubbish!! I'd go as far as to say a health hazard at 40ft!!

It's whippy as hell. I used a 60ft Tucker aluminium pole once for a whole day until I could replace it with a carbon pole. Above 30ft don't use a carbon hybrid or aluminium or fibreglass pole as too whippy and too heavy.

Save a grand up and buy an extreme 47.using heavy poles like that one could result in a nasty shoulder injury mate even if just used for the odd job.
price higher/work harder!

you could ebay it as a brand new used pole and do what SeanK suggests.

I used to use one of these at 50 feet  :o until last year on 1 bimonthly job ... never again

tbh I think it was an earlier version as 5.5kilos seems light

If you have the physical capability and its only for the odd job
you would be fine.

For the same money though you could of bought a half decent fishing
pole which would of got you over 40ft and weighed around a kilo , maybe less
and a really easy diy job.

I have the original Facelift carbon , think its about 42 foot , i use it quite a lot , on some of my biggies i use it for 5 hours straight , its feckin killing me to be honest these days , i really need a new pole too .

Im just gonna nip out to measure and weigh it , it has a superlight brush and neck and it still will get its butt kicked by the pole above .

See you in a mo  ;D

I'm so lazy I'm getting tired of it !

I used to use the same Facelift pole, you need an Xtreme mate- no comparison!! ;) I used to have to walk my facelift up the wall, I can hoist the Xtreme 47 up from the ground fully extended!!

THE RESULTS ARE IN !!!!

The pole measures 41 foot , so 44 foot working height.

And comes in at 4775 grams with superlite brush and long plastic angle neck.

Rather hefty bit of kit , but then i reckon its got to be at least 7 years old now !!
