just recived my 12v power up reel today.got it all riged up dose what  it says on the tin. only fault if it is a fault is that its  stiff when your pulling out the hose its not as free rolling as i would of expected.may be due to the newnes.ie the chain.the other thing is the price its over priced imo. i got the compleat set up.   but i like my toys so i will see how i get on with it in the morning

i dont want to be rude but i think its a waste of time something to go wrong? and maybe a little lazy. dont get me wrong hear iv thought of using one and im sure it works well and if you like it fair play to you but personally il stick with a clabber metal real £39

I know people who do not use a drill or moter to pull the hose in will poo poo the idea and say there is no point and it's no hassle winding by hand, but I have used a drill (the same drill) for over 4 years powered from a car battery, there have been a couple of times where the wire broke so I had to revert to winding by hand, and I hated every minute of it.

Using a drill is quicker, easier and saves energy, it's not like the hose had to be wound in a couple of times a day, it could easily be 15, 20 times a day.

I can get a picture up, but it is literally a cordless drill wit the guts removed from the battery and 2 wires going into it and a 17mm socket on the end, it's not rigged up or any thing, just hold it in my hand.

i dont see the point for me personally as i usually only reel in 3 or 4 times a day on most working days.sometimes only twice!with a decent reel fixed in the van its easy reeling in by hand even if on the odd day its 7 or 8 times.

I found it hard to pull out sometimes, so I fitted a switch so you can reverse the motor, this works a treat now.

Any idea which model drill. I presume its a variable speed drill? On a pretty slow setting?

only do about 4 days a month and sick of winding in 100 mtr of wet hose already. Find me a good electric and SOLD. All my equipment is dropping to bits other than hose and pump

Lol..its hardly back breaking winding a reel in, especialy if its a van mounted reel.

it can be depending on your age, whether you work on your own (you have to do all the reeling) you may have lots of jobs spread about so more reeling rather than stopping in one place and hitting 5 houses
