I grabbed a towel from the van to finish the job - it does work.
Ankalad system. You can use it to a height I can`t remember free standing. Cheap considering it may stop you dying. I`ve picked up twenty odd customers from two guys who had fatal falls. I`m too heavy for ladders but when I`m not I will only use ankalad or tower. If they aren`t usable at a job I don`t do the job. Money doesn`t work in Heaven or Hell.

And for next week's "Back to the 20th Century" discussion:-Why I still collect on Friday evenings and/or which sunroof should I fit to my Montego to stick my ladders out of.
These are great if the decking is in the right direction (4th one down - footee)http://www.soapnational.co.uk/acatalog/Accessories.html
