Anyone use a CLX 27?
« on: November 30, 2014, 02:10:59 pm »
As per subject does anyone use a CLX 27 as their everyday pole?

Any good?

Positives and negatives?

Cheers

And I take it you find its ok for everyday use?

I've got a CLX 22 at the moment so I'm guessing their isn't much difference apart from the extra weight.

Thanks for you're response.

Way to heavy don't even go there lol. Just being honest every day pole wants to be clx18,slx18,22,25 maybe extreme 25

iv used a few different poles now and the clx 27 is to whippy and practically folds in half lol. Good for the odd high job but defo not an everyday pole. Go slx or extreme for anything above 18ft ;D

yes, absolutely fine.
Used one for two years daily.
I only changed when I bought a supermax 40 to replace an xtel hybrid for the higher work. In the end I decided to remove sections from that as and when needed so my clx became a spare.
If you are on a budget or reluctant to shell out more ( afterall it does the same job ) then buy one.

I use the CLX 27 every day.  However, I also have a CLX 18.  I interchange them to lighten the load when I don't need the longer one.
The 27 is a bit on the heavy side.  However, mine is one of the older ones.  Newer ones have more carbon so presumably a little lighter.  Also, they are much better now they have smartclamps.  Before this, I found that they forever needed adjusting.
If going for a 27, maybe have a lighter, shorter pole too?

I'm in an annoying situation - I need to replace my CLX 22 ASAP as all sections spin and its wasting loads of time every day.mproblem is I don't have a lot to spend and I wanted to get something a bit bigger. I've had an SLX 25 in the past so may just get that and then save up for an Extreme 35.

For the price its hard to beat the CLX poles - my dad got a CLXII a while back and its even better than the original. Obviously the SLX & Extreme options are lighter & more rigid, but simply on value for money the CLX is a winner every time & I'd happily use one as an everyday pole.

I've used an Slx 22 and an extreme 18 instead of My old clx 27,  I would never want to go there again.

I have a CLX-27 and use it everyday and it's great for me. It's the only pole I've owned so nowt to compare it to though!
When I come to change I'll prob buy a shorter one for everyday use and a longer one for high commercial work etc.

We use the new version of the clx 27 as every day poles and they are fine; I can't fault them.

Those who are saying they're heavy need to join a gym I reckon!!
Come and talk dirty to us!!!

I use the new clx-27 for f/s/g I've stuck some photos up recently showing the difference between old clx-27 and new along with the clx-22 and slx-22 when you drop the new clx-27 to the same height as the slx-22 there isn't much in it.

I use the new clx27 everyday nice and light most of the time, a little
bit heavy when fully extended on the horizontal but still easily usable.

If you have a clx22 already and its good nick why not just get
the extra to make it into a 27 footer.
