Okay so at the moment i just offer a basic window cleaning service, clean the windows, sills and if using WFP which i use for about 15% of my work i clean all frames as you do.
I got a new customer several weeks back with a massive house with 2 conservatories both 3 sided about 14 window sets on each inc doors.
She wanted me to get rid of paint and muck from building work done to the house that had got on the windows so i did that no problem. She also wanted to me to "clean the frames and sills" and by this i assumed she just ment clean them with WFP and get entry level dirt, dust and muck off? After i did the job she said no i wanted you to bring up the UPVC sills that had lots of cement and stains on and things and she wanted them to look up to standard. I felt like a right mug, she paid for the job and i think i've lost the job as she was a new 4 weekly custie but she said she is going to get somebody else in to sort the sills out properly and there is some algae on the gutters which she wanted me to clean but i ran out of time anyway it was dark at 4pm when i had finished.
I don't want this to happen again so i want some advice really guys so that i can offer this as an additional service to my regular work if needed.
1. What can i use to remove stains/thick dirt/cement/everything else off the sill which wont come off with WFP? I've heard of Magic Sponges/Erasers will this do the job and where do i get them???
2. If i want to get the UPVC looking up to standard mainly on the sills and almost like new should i use some sort of UPVC cream or cleaner or something? If so where is best to get this from
Just want some feedback off what you all usually do if you take on this sort of work and how much you charge aswell.
Thanks.
