Checked and vetted
« on: November 29, 2014, 09:53:41 am »
Hello all. Firstly I want to introduce my self. I currently work for quite a large cleaning company on the carpet cleaning side. I have decided to start my own business up. I bought myself a machine and I'm doing this in my spare time at the moment.

So basically I'm looking for a little help in advertising. I havnt done a great deal of advertising yet. After Christmas I plan to get a website up. If anyone knows and decent people to get a website up. Sure I seen a deal on here the other day.  I was also thinking of advertising with checked and vetted. I was wondering if anyone has used these befor and what there like ? Just wanted to get some feedback on checked and vetted Befor i get into anything with them.

Thanks

website is just a start, website is nothing if is not on the top on the google ranking, so need a guy who will get it up to the top and or also google adwords.
if you have a spare time then get the leaflets and deliver it yourself, mostly on the streets you are just working.
what is your budget? if low and you are starting with a small machine with nearly no pro equipment then all your income should be spend on equipment and more advertising.

Nathan... first of all ask yourself a few questions..

1. Have you heard of checked and vetted before?
2. did they approach you, or the company you currently work for?
3. have any friends and family heard of them?
4. How much does it cost to join?
5. what are the benefits of joining?
6. Are there any other carpet cleaners on board?

1. If you have not heard of them before, then most of your potential custards probably will not have either.

2. If they approached you, they are either new or struggling or just after your money.

3. Like 1. if you or your friends and family have not heard of them..... see above.. iF EVERY one you know has heard of them and they are a big concern in your area.. maybe...

4. You should weigh up the cost factor of joining, to how much publicity, or customers you may get, and decide if it is worthy it.

5. Only you can decide if it is viable for you.

6 If there are other carpet cleaners on board, do you want the direct competition for a paid for marketing medium?

Personally I never entertained any of the sort of schemes this is, but then I am an old cynic who doesn't trust any form of advertising, having been bitten many times in the past.

Welcome to the forum by the way...  ;D ;D
Everyday this forum slips further from God.  :'(

Thanks mate. Really wasn't sure what to do. Most people I've spoke to have mainly says leaflets and website so I think I'll go down that route. I'm sure I seen on here that there was a deal for people on the forum for a website does anyone know what that was ? I can't seem to find it anymore

First try to find anyone in your area for your website.
There is no such a thing like a discount for a website, do not belive in that, prices are just a bit higher to allow futher discount. Nobody works for free!

You can pick up a domain name that looks like: carpet-cleaning-london.co.uk   for example, It will give you much easier SEO to do.
Many here that does good business are having very "poor websites", so you do not need best one, better spend extra money for adwords.
