« on: November 28, 2014, 11:22:56 am »
does anybody have much experience of shopping with ro-man?

i ordered an ro a week ago and have emailed for delivery date , they answered its being built should be with you end of the week .

i replied "thanks will i get an email when its dispatched?"

This is the third time i have emailed them about something , got the first reply then they ignore my reply .

i guess I'm spoilt by gardiners customer service !

I have had no dealings with them but would be interested to know why you chose to buy from them, I want to buy my first 4040 this week and cant decide who to get it from I think it will be Gaps water but would like yours and anyone elses opinions.

Bought my first 350gpd R.O. from Ro-man and it was very good, I think I remember a delay in them sending it to me but when it came it had been properly wetted and tested. Later as my business grew I bought a HF5 4040 from gaps water but pressure vessel from ebay. Like an idiot I put the Membrane in wrongly and reversed it, totally ruined. All my fault but Gaps were excellent they allowed me to buy another at cost price and virtually told me how to do it. I then sold my business to do graphic design work and now I have started again this time using ebay for a 350gpd unit again it lasted a year and I needed to buy new membranes so I went to Gaps for them as they were the best value for money. Both companies I found to be excellent.

Right it arrived today ....... so far not that impressed.

it says it comes with a float switch ......no float switch.

set it running and the pressure gauge is oscillating very fast so the needle becomes almost invisible ....... i could make out though that its reading roughly 40psi rather than 80-100.

have tried ringing twice but but have not been rung back yet ......grrrr!

i was also expecting the power pack to be attached to the back board as the length of cable to the connecter on the pump box is only a few inches ......means the power pack is hanging off the cable!

I got my 450 to from Colin's water about £180 does the job, fitted a decent pressure gauge to it with the rubber fitted around it, not one of those cheap white ones they supply.

Feel For you! How annoying! Make sure you keep trying to get hold of them, they need to rectify these issues!

The reason i brought this one is that it was supposed to be automatic .....float valve in tank to stop ro when tank is full .

no float valve with it even though it says so on website .

They will
Have to send you a float valve, how's the pump? What's the water coming out at? Bearing in mind it'll need a few hours to bring the tds down to a low level,

would you believe it , they just phoned me now :-)

They are sending me in the post tomorrow some heavy duty velcro to hold the power supply on the board .

also a straight connector so i can move the pressure gauge to the waste supply just before the waste valve , they think this will settle then gauge down so i can check the pressure of the pump properly.

He assured me that a they will sort out any teething problems .

looks good but lets see how it goes.
