Ha that's weird I got mine out today, absolutely useless.

Did you buy it for cleaning buildings or gutters. I've only had one type of roof on houses that I have to use it for a small area.

I'm very surprised that nobody has mentioned the deadly ladder unrestrained against the wall.
A question that I've asked before for those who use a vac on domestic is do you use a generator or custys inside plug and if its raining are they keen on you using it.

Yes we always use our genny for every job.

All plugs are ip something (forget the number) but waterproof switches and sockets.
If really pouring down I'd prefer not to do them as I don't like getting that wet, but the van is big enough we run genny from van and I can cover the vac with a waterproof cover

I brought it for doing a sign clean but thinking it would come in handy for other jobs but so far its been as useful a chocolate fire guard.

The pole has been sitting next to the rotary cleaner which I thought would be useful as well!
I'll try again it on Saturday and see if I generate some more business from the inquisitive neighbours.

Why not just stick em on fleebay and put whatever you get for them towards a guttervac which you may find more useful.

That's the thing I may or may not find it more useful. But £550 for a vac with alloy poles and around £200-£300 for a genny? I wouldn't sell the pole as I would need it down the line.

I use a 5.5kva to power my gutter vac. (3kw tripplemotor from Kev.

I use carbon poles and the whole set up paid for itself in around 8 weeks.

I don't use a generator on most jobs I do. If I need a generator say for block of flats etc then I just hire one in and add it to the cost.

Not constanly if won't as will put it under too much load with all 3 motors running.

Not really as it's a normal hover not a wet vac so would go bang as soon as you go to suck any water/sludge through it. It would also be a wee bit under powered to deal with sucking poope out of gutters.

This is a good example why I would not just turn up and try jetting gutters out using a telescopic pressure washer lance.

What a fooking mess that lot would have made and those broken bits of mortar and other bit of broken tiles would have become missiles too.

Ive got to say all my custies are absolutely chuffed with the gutters I have done for them, I have not lost any business. I just did a full gutter clearance and facia soffit clean + windows in under 1hr 30min on a 3 bed semi with porch and ground floor extension that is guttering all around. Customer couldn't believe their eyes as next doors guttering looked cleaner than theirs before we started and now the neighbours facia looks a little older.

I love the gutter lance, but I also stated in my first thread that at the moment I cant afford a gutter vacuum system and so this will have to do me for know. However I will still use it to clean gutters as it is fantastically quick!

If we went and did that to a customers property we would be out of business in weeks,

Do it properly spend the money and get Vac system or sub the jobs out to someone how can do it right,  before you mess your business up !
