Thomson local. Anyone got a website with them?
« on: November 21, 2014, 01:59:57 pm »
I've just had a sales call from someone from there explaining benefits of this and that regarding being on the net. I was interested until she told me the cost 30 minutes later! Packages start from £169 a month! What do you think?

They are taking the p that is what I think ;D

Even if you paid someone to builder you a seo site should cost no more than £600 and that is all you would need.

Friend of mine (roofer) got blagged into them building him a website. Was a decent website but the costs were staggering. They added extra charges each month too.

Leave them well alone would be my advice.

I used to work for Thomson Directories. They incouraged lying to customers. It was a "say whatever you have to to secure the sale" mentality. Avoid at all costs. I left as I wouldn't lie to customers and this meant 1) I could never earn the top commissions and 2) I used to p off the managers, although I really enjoyed doing that - so easy to push someone's buttons that is under the whip hand trying to get a team of 20 to hit targets. .

+5 He did a website for me last year, very very very pleased with it, I had Nathanael update the website in august
with another page advertising with video my new guttervac cleaning service, I've been averaging one gutter clearing
job a week from the website, plus more fascia & soffit cleans. honestly you will not go wrong with Nathanael, he is
very knowledgable in this area, and a nice guy to do business with.

  Best regards
