vac motor question.....
« on: November 19, 2014, 04:01:41 pm »
I have a vac motor that I have had for a while, new, never been used that I wanted to fit in an old sabrina machine i have, its a 2 stage

bypass 5.7 size, It fits ok & looks the same as whats come out but it doesnt have anywhere to fit the earth wire on the motor?  Just the two

standard black wires ?

Is it still possible to fit this & if so where do I connect the earth to ?

Regards

Steve, is there a small metal panel on the end (with two screws in)?

If so, the connection should be under there.

No unfortunately there isnt anywhere, its all plastic except for the central metal part where the two black wires go.

Normall there is a screw on the side where you can screw in the earth but no such fixing on this one ?

I'm no electrician so don't shoot me down. If the mains cable has not got an earth you will need to replace that to create an earth circuit (I think), if the pump is earthed tap on to that. Either way consult an expert you can't be too careful
