We had one and it seemed no more powerfull than the Clarke/Machine Mart 1200 w Jobby. Dave Wilis had one, see what he says about them. Sold it and kept the Clarke one.

If it's the one Eastern Trading used to sell then I've got one 38mm inlet. They did adapt them to 51mm for their own gutter cleaning package. Works OK but just too big and poorly balanced for me (as most of the big vacs are). Too big to carry in my van all day so use a Nilfisk from Argos now.

Interestingly I've also got a lower powered vac from Lidl which sucks better than the Nilfisk and only cost me about £60!

hi Dave I have been using the nilfisks 1800w for few years on my second and still think it's good.
However I find the filters block up and hinder the performance of the vac sometimes,also I have two big hotel jobs to do and think she might be a tad bit small.
What you think?

The nilfisk has big suction no question it's the filters causing the problem, if you look at the 1200w wet vacs that have good suction power they run with foam filters helping the vac generate power.
Take the filter off as a test (not cleaning gutters) and see the increase of power must be 30% more but no protection for the motor, I might stick a foam filter on it from now on.

Yes, I'd agree with that - Nilfisk filter is good but has to be kept very clean or the power drops dramatically. The big vacs are good for the money - Chinese most of them just too bulky. Don't think they have a filter as such for wet cleaning which means on a dry day the tile dust goes straight through them and blows out of the exhaust and in the motors probably. Idealy they need the side inlet because in standard form the crud gets fired directly at the centre housing where the motors are - the deflector helps but that's where they block. Be handy if I could find someone who can supply after market inlets.
I thought about carrying spare Nilfisk filters in the van but they are very expensive for what they are.

i find the nilfisk tends to block at the inlet , have thought about fitting a cyclonic inlet but can't find them at a decent price .

apart from that i think its brilliant .

The filters on vacs are only for trapping dust (fine saw dust etc.) so it's not blown back out of the exhaust into the air for you to breathe in, particularly in an enclosed area.
So for gutter cleaning the filters don't really serve a purpose so I would remove filter if possible.

really I thought all the mud will clog the motors and damaged it..

the filter gets coated in mud etc when doing gutters , don't think i would want to remove it .

its easily washable .

Ok perhaps im wrong then, I know most standard filters are only for trapping dry dust and thought you had to remove it if vacuuming anything wet?

I use the Gopro Hero 3 silver, works well with iPhone 5, get latest updates for both and alls well  and easy to use

You're not really wrong. They come with two types of filter to use, the traditional corrugated cardboard type that stops the fine dust like you say. They also come with a loose wrap round sponge type affair  for wet use, and is the one we use for gutter cleaning.
