Its not a quick job either, took vauxhall 4 days to fix mine when it exploded in the bell housing. Think they said it would be between £1100-£1500 if not on warranty too. Its a lot of work to replace clutch, engine out etc.
Hope you get it sorted easily.

Black diamond in Warrington are clutch and gearbox specialists. They did my gearbox (also 06 Vivaro) a few years ago and they were very good.

£240  ;D ;D ;D

Snatch his hand off at that price mate. It's a full engine out job on the vivaros.

£600 ish when mine went.  If going 4 a cheapie, make sure they are replacing slave cylinder at same time.  Don't go cheap and not change it.  Can be a false economy.

Mine was gearbox not clutch, but I beleive both are full engine out jobs. Think we paid £900 ish from memory for new gearbox fitted but that was in 2009.

YES, important tip that. saves you hundreds if you get that done too. Think the parts are only about 30 quid extra. Over 800 beer coupons if done as a seperate job on mine  :(
No still don't understand, I must be thick

We've had a few fitted by these guys (not this branch) on Transit Connects, good job, reasonable price happy to recommend.

My 59 Plate Vivaro clutch went at the weekend >:(
Just got it back on the road today £750 lighter!

It was the Slave cylinder. I will feel like a slave earning this back over the next week or 2

The Vivaro has a dual mass flywheel. that can cost between £395 & £525. That doesn't include the clutch plate, release bearing, slave cylinder or fitting.

I bet the cheapo was labour and clutch plate. They will come back to you with another quote once they have removed the gearbox and there is nothing you can do then as they will have you by the short and curlys.

Trust the AA. They know.

Phone a local parts supplier and ask for a price on a replacement clutch kit (including DMF.)

Ford and Peugeot/Citroen also have Dual Mass Flywheels, but you can get an upgrade kit that changes them back to a solid flywheel with conventional clutch plate. Something may also be available for Renaults.

DMFs were a disaster. I understand that some new vehicles are no longer supplied with them due to their failure rates.
