You don't need a demo Rob, all you need to know is that they are lighter, more rigid than the SLX but also, they clamp at every half-way point. Eg. Closed- half extension- fully open.
Is it worth the extra dosh? I think so, but I'm a sole trader, so I make my own preferences. Less strain over a day, week. You might decide differently. I'm domestic mostly, but if you've mainly commercial jobs you might think it's more worth your while!! The SLX is a great pole though, and the Xtreme just takes it too another level.

I spoke to Alex about the same thing and he confirmed as already stated with one exception and that is that the SLX is a bit harder wearing. We have 7 SLX poles and love them.

Extreme are the best and last just as long as an SLX you'll save money on massages lol

I have foand extreme to be no where near as strong in the long run . The carbon is thinner so doesn't last as long. They are amazing to use and very rigid but in going back to clx and slx just for the fact they can take the beating

Try spraying them every 4-5 months or so with a clear lacquer it will make the pole last a lot longer.

Yea was thinking about this today,iv put some silicon spray on it so its smooth. I was thinking about spraying it with primer then a base coat then clear coat that should take a wile to wear of then re apply when its wore of ?

New extremes have metal clamping points. That ain't gonna wear anytime soon. :)

^^ agree. I orginally recommended Gunk Engine laquer and Protector. I have used it on both my CLX22 and sons SLX25. I got it from Halfords a few years ago for £5.99 and I was well pleased with the results.

They no longer do it but sell their own brand of Halfords Bodyshop Laquer. It is a high gloss and cost £9.99. I would say that it dries harder than the Gunk laquer but that may be because the Gunk has been through a heat cycle as it would on an engine.

I would recommend the Halfords body shop laquer, but would do it over the weekend to allow the laquer time to dry and get hard before reassembling the pole.
