Pressure washing in Poole!
« on: November 08, 2014, 10:46:21 am »
Down here pressure washing & preparing a store canopy for repainting. This is before cleaning!

Jobs come up as expected and I have a bargain price for the 3 day stay @ the Sandbanks Hotel.

Sitting with a day off before I go up to Cheltenham, to finish another project and then home.

Walking down the beach yesterday (job on late evenings) I saw this lot -

Who would want to be dragged along by a kite, with a few bits of twine holding it up there, dressed in figure hugging lycra, with pot bellies and with what was clearly a desperate need to hold onto their youth by being 'phat'

I couldn't imagine anyone in their right mind wanting to do such a stupid pastime.

Rob ;D

I'm watching them now. The rain is absolutely bouncing down outside and I have a view over the bay, so I have nothing better to do.

Surfing - that's a manly pastime, so is rock climbing, caving, go kart racing.

I'd even rate knitting as more manly ;)

I like Sandbanks. Great in the summertime and that hotel you're in is a great location. The crazy golf is good too down by the beach. But it makes my missus even crazier than normal :)

The weather down there has not been good.

I got there on Thursday afternoon and it was heavy rain with loads of 'heavy squall' (ooooo!!!) so I didn't see anything. It was still the same on Friday afternoon when I got up (worked late) and then on Saturday much the same and never left the hotel (there are worse places to spend Saturdays).

On Sunday I got up to clear, sunny skies and after enjoying as much breakfast as I could force into myself I walked out onto the front of the hotel to a really nice beach.

I think it is one of those hotels that can be very expensive but I didn't get the biggest room but it was ensuite, the breakfasts are buffet and it's all there and my room, for a working weekend was as expensive as I would pay anywhere else.

If anyone gets the chance or wants to take the wife (or lover) or if Chris wants to take his bull boyfriend(s) then it is worth the long trip down there.

To keep it pressure washing -

I like pressure washing ;D

Nothing up with that Carl, apart from Skeggy

Went there all the time as a kid, seeing that clock tower reminded of my mother saying - 'if you get lost go to the clock tower'

Long way that for you!

It is a great place in the summer Rob, was down there earlier this year for a week, had great weather and having dog friends beaches helps as our comes on holiday with us. And now having the second one, she's 17 weeks old, it might be Sandbanks again next year!!!!

Good beach at Skeggy, when it's not being dug up by a fella in a big JCB digger ;D.

Must have gone their most years for all of my childhood. Probably changed a lot now. I imagine it has had its best years and is starting to get run down, little bit like Clacton?

Rog - Penthouse @ the Sandbanks Hotel?

To be fair its still in good shape. It does get looked after and although it's not as busy as it was years ago it still attracts a large number of tourists.

On bank holidays your queuing for about 45 minutes in traffic just to get into the outskirts of Skegness

Takes us about 5 hours to get there towing the hotel. They had over 20k visitors and we had good weather. Seems quite a nice place but the property are only half of what they are around here which is a good thing. They are building a new aquarium next to the clock tower. I won the over 50 class which was nice.
