Thinking of selling up
« on: November 07, 2014, 08:44:10 am »
Thinking of selling due to ill health. I have not made the final step due to see doctor next week and then  need to decide were to go with this. My leg are packing up, I cannot bend or sit on my haunches and have difficulty getting up again. Even walking is a pain.I am so gutted as I have loved my job and my business it gave me the independents  I needed. I have always worked for myself and working for a boss drove me mad. Anyway I might be selling out if the doc thinks its the best. Window cleaning for 8 years and its been a joy to me, boring at time not always challenging but good.

Isnt your round big enough to employ someone why you just work part time?
Take a pay cut until you have more work.
Either way we both know that the doctors will tell you to pack in because they always tell you the worst!

Mate would you not think of taking on an employee and becoming an armchair boss, I have been having
health problems this year and that's my long term plan.
Wont be making a lot of dosh for the next few years as most off it will be invested in the business but its better than having nothing to do and unfortunately I'm not in the position to retire to the sun.
Best of luck with your decision.

It has crossed my mind to employ but I would have to check on a worker and I might not be able to even do that. My walking has gone, 4  month ago I was running up ladders. I cannot walk around a supermarket with out pain. I have a nerve damage condition which effects the muscles in your legs.

There must be some kind of surgery they can do? They fit new hips and arms so surely they can sort you out.
If you do have a decent round employ, but pay bonus's to keep the worker trying for more work all the time

Understand, my brother has M.S. and he had to give up his business, it can be hard managing an illness and trying to build
and run a business at the same time and sometimes its just not possible.

Keep going till something falls off mate.

Not serious.

It may be the right thing to do sell up while you can. It's a hard decision to make, but last thing you want is to be stressed out about an employee or losing your work altogether.

Don't listen to the doctors, listen to your gut instinct and your body. Doctors aren't always right. Hard decision to make. Consider working part time and get rid of any stress you don't need as you can only cope with so much at any one time. Hope you don't make a hasty decision you may regret later.
