Good Morning Folks, my Shurflo pump has become unreliable to the point where it just stops working in the middle of a job. The electrics, controller and water supply are all okay. I suspect its either the pressure switch or the diaphragm. has anyone else had this issue, how did you fix it?
All help appreciated.
Can you confirm your pump pressure switch is wired up? Some (most?) pump controllers take over the function of these, so they're disabled. Have you basically got wires going to the plastic part of the pump?
And if you have, does your pump work intermittently? Can you wiggle the wires around the pump pressure switch and will the pump work again? This is what happened to my pump and I just replaced the pressure switch and it solved the problem.
Maplins sell the pressure switch for about £2.50. It's very easy to replace; takes about 10 - 15 minutes. Just take the pump apart carefully so you know what goes where.
