It does interest me to what people charge for upholstery the difference in price is so big but the amount of work should be so little, it's not as though you can only clean one arm or 2 of the 3 cushions.

I'm not even sure what my local competitors charge.

Armitage cleaning in Huddersfield was charging £30 a seat 12 years ago, I dont know what he charges now ?  But as you well know there are so called companys in middlrsbrough only charging £20 for the whole suit ?

Not in Sheffield we dont , I 3 whow live in 500k houses and drive 30k plus cars.

185 inc protecter, takes average 2to3 hours dependent on tea supply, state of suite and what im doing next. love to know details of comp that charge 300plus, do you take same time, quote for every job, etc, in other words , thats what I want to charge, please share the way to do it. This is a hard subject, most people equate price to level of quality &  professionalism, which is why we only had 3 people actually answer the question. How can someone who perceives themselves as a professional carpet cleaner who knows what they are doing get half the price of someone who they consider to be a hack,

In reality what we charge is solely based on the price we want. a carpet cleaner getting £160 probably does the same job that  a £90 cleaner does..... the only  difference is he has set his price at £160.

I was talking to Shaun last month about the reality of asking £200 to clean a suite and we both agreed it was too much as a basic price.

If I go to a home to clean just a suite I charge £170, but anything else after that is normally reduced, I will do the living room for £50 etc.

plus I have a sort of cut off limit of £300 for a half day,  an easy suite and a couple carpets will get me to £300 then I get very generous with anything else that I can fit into the time left

Mike you could also say that someone who charged £120 last year and now charges £180 because they are busier essentially will do exactly the same job.

I hate upholstery sometimes and sometimes now, usually between £25-£35 per seat. Protect is a 1/3 etc.
