gardiners backpack prob.WaterFlow Controller
« on: October 31, 2014, 02:42:08 pm »
charged back pack ready for work today,   pushed lower waterflow controll to start cleaning as normal,  nothing

powered up back pack ready for todays work,     as normal pushed the lower speed  numpty to start cleaning,  nothing  ?,  I CHANGED TO THE higher flow numpty which came on as it should,     but will be using too much water this way,      but only had a few hours today,  so carried on.    water going down too ouick.

a few times i pressed the lower flow numpty,   still nothing.

then halfway through i pressed lower flow numpty again ,  hey presto   it was all fine.    i was able to use this lower flow again to finish my work for the day.

i dont want it to happen again at the start of a working week,  knowing i may need a part for the backpack.

usually both flow speeds will be affected if its needing a new flow controller fitted.

Has this happened to you,  if so did you need to fit a new controller to get back up and running again.

Alex   how much are the new flow controllers for your back packs.   Do you reckon it may be on its way out.

I think the problem is that you keep Pressing the numpty.

It could be the switch or the flow controller. How old is it?

New controllers can be bought online - http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/Backpack-Charger---240v-UK-Plug-Backpack_SPEED.html

its around a year old alex,
Alex      how do you remove the red   on/off    switch controller,

It comes on the Low switch  for around 10 seconds,    it will then go off,     it is then i need to push the high switck  on which keeps a steady waterflow,    but will use too much water that way,        i have always used the lower switch when using the backpack,

Alex have you a link for a Switch controller,

The switch controller is the one with the 3 Yellow wires,    which need terminal fittings on the end wires to connect straight up ,

If its this its a lot easier to fit,     i will just need to remove it,     ???

Hi Johnny

Thanks for the information. If you can email me your name and postcode we can look you up on the system and see if the backpack is still under the 12 month warranty. If it is then we can look at replacing the intermittent switch/controller for you.

The red ON/Off button pops out when the spring clips inside are depressed.

Hi Johnny

Could you email that through to me on my email - alex@agardiner.co.uk - as the office will not know what it is about when they receive the email from the website.

sent.

Im summising it may now be the on/off    switch.,      the high is ok,     but the low switch   starts then cuts out after around 10 seconds,      as i say the high switch means using more pure water ,

HI Johnny

I have now got your email. Your backpack was just within warranty from when you first mentioned this issue online.

I will get a replacement on/off switch and flow controller sent out to you on Monday.

Hi Alex

I bought one of the new back pack from you not long ago i think it might have been month ago, and used it twice so far, went to charge it and nothing, :( then i phoned the office and they said to open the bottom part and check for loose wire, so i did that and there was no loose wire,  ::)roll and charged it again, but back pack not working, then i phoned your office again and there was answering machine so i left a message to get back to me  and no one came back.  :( so i text you the photo of the back pack and explained whats happened, but you haven't come back to me. :'(

Can you please sort this out for me?

I am great fan of you and your products specifically poles and brushes, but defiantly not too keen of these back packs, sorry to say but they are not  well made.

Hi Hasti

I did get your text on Friday afternoon, but I was away on Holiday last week in Dartmoor with very patchy phone signal. I did send it across to the office with instructions on how to sort it out for you, but as it was fairly late on Friday afternoon they may not have been able to action my instructions. Someone from the Office will be in touch on Monday to sort this out under warranty for you.

my review , ive had WCW backpack, and gardiners ,       WCW backpacks    left a lot of water vapour and leaked into bottom where battery and wireing is cased.     these gardiner backpacks, 18L ones have nothing like that, ive had mine     not  any faults till now,    i dont have a van mount system   so rely on my backpack to do my house tops via wfp,     if i was traditional    as i used to be,    im sure id have sold up by now,            wfp  cleaning has made life so much easier for the last couple of years.
i rely on my backpack now,

so easy to bung into vehicle and away you go.
