My pump has stopped working Today it still runs but doesn't deliver much water from it, it sounds like it's whiskin the water inside the pump.

Anyone no what's up???

pump strainer clean? also could be an o ring in the pump. i had this happen before. Easy fix.

There is a little non return valve after the diaphragm on a 'hair' spring. It could have failed or have dirt trapped in it. If you can blow air back through the pump from the delivery side, then this could be worth checking out.

You will need to open the pump to check it, but watch out for bits that can spring out. So it needs to be opened in a controlled way.

Cleaned the strainer filter thing and stripped the pump don't look broken the diaphragm looks ok.

What I did notice when testing it today is the pump over run for about 15 seconds before stopping when I turn the pole tap off.
Why is this and can I adjust it??

So the pressure switch is in the flow controller would this be the reason for it over running the pump when taps been shut off?

Sounds like air in the system. Air will compress (water doesn't) hence the pump running on as it compresses the air. You will get a "splurge" when you open the tap back up. Run the pump flat out to try & flush out the air. Sometimes, if I've drained my system down, or removed pump etc I have to put a pipe on the outlet & suck the water through to prime the pump initially.

Any connection could be vulnerable to air ingress, if a connection doesn't leak water it doesn't mean that air can't get in. The biggest cause in my experience is by having the pump higher up in the van than the water level in the tank. The higher the pump is above the water level the more prone to air ingress it will be. My pump is now on the floor of the van & it doesn't get air in at all. It used to be sat on the wheel arch ply lining, so just above the tank level & air used to get in all the time then.

I think the problem was the delivery hose in the tank it had a dodgy connector. Working fine again now Cheers for any of the advice above much appreciated.
