Is there any reason i can't use an old section (i have many old poles ionics and brodex) ,as a extension for my clx 27, it would save buying one from Gardiner.

The only reason I can see is if they don't fit, you won't know unless you try

I use the base section of an old MKI slx as an extension for my newer MKII slx.

I have half a dozen spare brodex poles I'm going to sell soon. I use the ones I'm not selling as a base for my Gardiner 30' and they work a treat especially if you only have a few jobs needing the extra height.
Well...uploading photos doesn't work for me. Easily get 50' pole this way. not too expensive and not too heavy.
