Just wondering if people water proof there van floors?

If you have how much did it cost you ?

If you've never bothered have you had any trouble with the floor rotting out?

Ive been trying to keep the van as dry as possible but every time I do a job the bags of sludgey crap soaks the floor getting worried about it rotting.

Have a Look at fiberglass. I bought it from an online company about 20litres of resin and 20m of matting for about £150.
That was enough for a transit and a 6x8 trailer it never leaks and is a lot stronger than the paint cover stuff. Best to rip out the old flooring and lay the New fiberglass straight onto the bare metal of the floor

So you put it straight on to the bare metal. Do you have to put ply wood back on top ? does it ever crack with to much weight on it?

Yes just take up the plywood floor, clean the underneath and its best to cut the matting to shape then roller on the resin mix. It goes hard in a few hours and the smell tends to go after a few days.
Because the fiberglass is on the metal it doesn't crack or brake as all the weight is taken from the metal.
It's best to leave it as it is as the plywood would rot again. I bought a dye with the same company and mixed it into the resin so my van has a blue floor same as the colour of the van. It looks better than the white color of the resin without it.

I fibreglass a lots of roofs etc but I just take the ply up, spray the whole floor with a good thick layer of waxoyl and plonk the ply back down. I have a drain jetter in my van and have never worried about keeping it dry. Fibreglass is grief should you ever need to weld the floor.

Waxrol looks like the cheaper and quicker option so I think I'll give this ago hopefully I Havnt damaged my van.

Am I right in thinking the 1L cans fit on to the gun so I won't need compressor?

You can buy a handpump but I've never used one. The 1 ltr shutz cans are the ones you use with the air gun. There is nothing to stop you brushing it on
