Didn't realise i over extended it and snapped the clamp and 3 inches off the section above  

Luckly i kept the old clamps as a back up

Ouch!  One of my joeys did that one day.

In an emergency (in the event you didn't have a spare - like I didn't), you can tape it all together and it'll hold for a day or two while you order a replacement.

I always keep a spare pole (clx) for when this happens.

If it's any consolation, I did the same this morning. Up at 6, into Bow for 8am to crack on with a one off block of flats clean. First window, section no2 on my extreme went.

Happened to me a couple of weeks ago with my Extreme, section No2 snapped just above the clamping area. Pole isn't that old but because I used an aqua-dapter the warranty is invalid. Also snapped another section a while back but I was at fault that time as I tried to close a window with it.
It's strange they can snap when cleaning a window, I'm sure I saw an advertising clip somewhere of someone sitting on an Extreme section to show how robust they are

To be fair the section was about 7 months old and had been wearing thin for a while. Snapped just below the clamp

And I was extending the pole over some cars almost horizontally with about 40 ft out, so all that pressure on an already weak section isn't a good idea.

My pole is about 2 years old I replaced the clamps a few weeks back and just over extended it by mistake

All fixed now with a old clamp once the new brushes come out im going to get a clx22 for every day work

i use clx 22 for every day , think its a great pole

New ones are heavier than the old though thanks to all the extra clamps and think i have a heavier brush this time, still great though and i hammer them and always get about 18-24 months out of them

I wouldn't expect the pole to be wearing thin as quickly as that.
