Why are window cleaners so old?
« on: October 17, 2014, 04:16:26 pm »
I'm coming up to thirty eight this year but I think I could be on the wrong forum. Every one on here seems to be well over fifty - why is that?

Is it a job for old men?

Because when you're young you think that the wage-slave job you're doing is fun and well-paid enough.  So you do it till you're ready for suicide.  Suddenly even window cleaning looks worthwhile.  Then you discover it's not a bad way to make a living.

By which time you're just about ready to retire.

Spot on, plus as you get older and grumpier you can no longer put up with managers who haven't a clue and are only in the position because of brown nosing.
God I don't miss those types.
