When I first started window cleaning a year or two ago I started collecting and quickly realised it was way too long and not the way to go so I just told my custies as j went round in changing to bank transfer and virtually all of them preferred it, got a few oldies who don't know how to use tinternet but they're usually in when I call and a few others hide the money, I just post the same  windows cleaned note with bank details every time so they got no excuse but half of them conveniently forgot so I have to send a reminder, I do have a few that have set a standing order up but I don't like it personally as I feel like I've got to get round to them asap if ive not been due to bad weather etc and I've recieved payment!

Cheers mate, was going to say just bank transfers as if I done standing order or direct debit and I was late round cause of the weather then don't want to be having to explain why they have paid yet windows are still dirty etc so defo just doing bank transfers, I detest collecting seems a waste of time also need to put please pay within 3 days or do u say pay within 7 days

Yeah I put payment within 3-4 days but I've got some which pay before I even get home from work and others I have to remind but they usually apologise and pay straight away.

It really is amazing. I push GC instead of Online now. So far my debt list is about 10% lower and its only just the start of it!

My first month fees were £1 lol, and i have £150 credit.

On a £1000 worth of online transfers you loose a £10.

Best bet is i have coming on for 20 customers using it and they are all SLOW online payers!

Its another tool bud, doesnt cost nothing to set up. If you never use it, you will never get charged :)

I remember reading when it first started that you have to give each customer a reference number because there is nowhere to reference there address ?

is this true as i only know the names of around half of my customers.

When you are notified of them signing up you just their name and email address.

If i havent got a clue who they are, i just email them with a thank you. In the thank you note i ask if they can just confirm there first line of address for MY OWN piece of mind.

Approaching 20 and only pushing it one one round at a time.

Its superb!

I've tried pushing gc but a lot of customers get the email and them don't bother signing up to it...I collected for the first few weeks in business and got sick of it all I do now is leave a self addressed envelope and slip they can either send a cheque which is still quite popular (they provide their own stamps) or online bacs transfer you get the odd few that take ages but overall most are pretty good about it
