Are your returns around the 0.3% to 0.5% ?

It depends on a few things. You get a much higher rate in March April compared to say October. If you go out just after really bad weather it'll be higher also. We used to do frequent repeat drops, this will obviously give a lower yield. Other factors too, like target areas and holiday seasons have an effect.

But around 0.5% isn't a million miles away on average I suppose.

Yes
The best way to predict the future is to create it.

Yes
Do you find the leaflets bring in the better quality work, as opposed to canvassing Lee ?

Depends what you mean by returns?
I pay £260 for 5,000 designed, printed and delivered (to areas of my choice).
I design them myself and just send the artwork (ex printer/ graphic designer)
I get 4 to 5 enquiries per thousand (so say 22 enquiries)
I'll convert 17 (17 x £19 - my house average) = £323.
In spring 3 of those custys will also want SFG cleans at £140 to £160 each.
Happy days!
The trick is to get the leaflet right, the area right, and make sure all the leaflets get delivered.
And before you ask the distribution company only operates in my local area.
"Thank you for calling: if you have a 1st floor flat, mid terraced house, lots of dogs, no parking, no side access, or no sense of humour, please press hold!
For all other enquiries, please press1"

I don't deliver huge quantities of flyers these days, but generally use business cards. I have always found though that I get a much better call back ratio than others get on here, I delivered around 100 cards a month ago and have so far had 8 calls from them, of which 6 are now regular jobs.  :)

I tried that on a very small scale once (one road after a similar post to yours) and got a good response as well.

Hmm, idea hatching now...
