summer job only
« on: October 15, 2014, 08:47:59 pm »
some people think we do this job just for the summer, just had a custy say call me after winter to which my reply was you will not be getting a call from me as I only keep regular all year round customers. she then said I have an attitude. I would love her employer to tell her to take the winter off.

They used to niggle me.
Not bothered now.
I just say I won't call you but you can call me and I'll see if I can fit you back in at the time.

Actually works quite well for me. Can't do as much in January as I do in July.

Smile sweetly and suggest they google 'hibernating window cleaner' in the spring!

'Best wishes' for the future (we all know what that stands for).....

If at all possible walk away with a smile and FLOUNCE, FLOUNCE,FLOUNCE

And for those of us who want to keep the customer. What could we say to let them know we clean all year round and that they need one?

I just dump them telling them that I don't offer an "on demand" service.

My barber has got the right huff with me, think he might have an attitude problem.
I've been going in there monthly to get my hair cut. But now the winter is drawing in I don't see the point of having it cut until the spring, afterall its colder and I wear a hat most the time, anyways I wished him well and said I'd see him in April. He said he would probably be too busy with regular customers but if he could fit me in it would cost me double because he'd treat it as a one off and he would have more hair to cut.
Daylight robbery if you ask me, he's lucky to have a job at all  ;D

The difference is that when I go to a barber I don't enter into an unwritten agreement with him to cut my hair every 8 weeks at a set price. Nice try though.  :-\
