I started with a slx30 but bought a slx22 base section. The 30 gives you enough length to reach comfortably over a conny as I found the 22 just a bit too short - I was working at full stretch too much. Most of the time I drop the last couple of sections and stick the 22 base on for a lighter, more user-friendly pole. It's a cheap way of having two poles.
I use a 18ft for most of my daily work and I have a 30ft for above any conservatories and so on.To be honest I would rather pull the 30 footer out now and again than work all day with a longer polethan needed.
