Confused......
« on: October 13, 2014, 08:27:02 pm »
I have recently brought a l5 heater from corwoods which seems to be a good bit of kit, the problem I am having though is that the water is lovely and hot for most of the day but periodically i get a surge of cold water coming through the hose and then about a minute or so later the hot water returns ?? I have been told to play around with the settings to try and get it set right which i have spent ages doing, I was also advised to turn the calibration down and to increase the flow rate to get the correct amount of water passing through the unit.....As i say its no critisism of the heater itself but I want hot water to be on constant flow really and for it not to be intermittent .
Some guys are saying to go for an 8l an meny heater as these operate more smoothly ? My Corwoods heater apparently has no 20 min cut out either so scratching my head with this one ......??? ??? ???

Do you use a flow controller?

What do you have it set at?

I reckon your flow needs to be higher.
It sounds like your on the borderline and just using enough flow, then if your voltage on your battery drops and the flow then drops a tad, the heater will cut out.

Try running it at 50 and see if the problem goes away.

These heaters do need decent flow and 40 sounds too low.

Also try turning the water dial on the heater right down as this restricts a little bit and creates back pressure which helps the boiler run in a lower pressure.

Thanks guys :)

Let us know if your sorted.

I've just ordered a corwoods heater. Been using an meny one but I want one without 20 minute cut off.

Should be getting it set up in the next week or so.

I just replace as and when for mine.

I have the 11kg bottle and it lasts me about two weeks of constant use so not too bad.

I do use mine on very low though, just luke warm at the brush head unless it's a Conny or PVC clean.
