Just wondering best way of pricing for high level cleaning of light fittings, girders and sprinkler pipes in these modern single storey stores...was looking at our Tesco branch yesterday and it's huge but all the pipework and steel girders are filthy.
I have 3 kw guttervac and 40 foot of carbon fibre poles I use for cleaning gutters and was thinking of getting into high level cleaning as well...was thinking yesterday how would I price this.

Tesco are covered by a national contract, with TC commercial, they are shocking but someone has done the deal!!

There's no harm in going in and asking though.

I don't think the methodology will work.

I have cleaned several Tesco store front entrances (internal) this year and you could not get them clean unless you went up there and did them by hand. We hired in scissor lifts and the hands on approach was definitely needed, a lot of mess gets displaced and you would need to cover over all of the chiller units and gondolas (look at me throwing out the terminology ) so it might need a rethink.

I agree that they are a mess but you should see the areas I see !!!!

I did a Tesco's external areas recently and they were a total set of *******'s to work for. They would only let me on site 4pm until 11pm on a Sunday evening. They have about 200 managers and deputy managers who don't tell each other whats going on, they never asked for any RAMS and although I signed in never signed out. I was never given any site specific induction either. They are only tenants on this site but even so they don't know their **** from their elbow. There are easier ways of earning a living

Oh and having been asked to move the trolleys never bothered - I just went round them and they never noticed

Wasn't just thinking of Tesco...but how do you price this kind of work??

I made my price up, they went with it and that figure is the basis of all store entrance cleans now

Is that why you are cleaning sofa's  and scrubbing floors now ?

Price materials and disposable items
Price staff costs
Price depreciation etc

Add your bit, no one can answer this, everyone is willing to work for less.

Easy.

If it's a national retailer though be prepared to be undercut.

I agree with the above, they will want you to work around them, quickly, no mess, and bend over backwards with health and safety.
