urine stain on leather sofa
« on: October 11, 2014, 09:01:51 am »
Hi Everyone. Advice please on removing a very large urine stain on my brown leather sofa. So far it has only been damp rubbed with tap water and a cloth. It has now dried out leaving a large water mark type stain. At hand I have a bottle of leather clean and feed as found in the pound shop and a small amount left of connolly hide leather clean and feed cream.
Would these be adequate? All advice welcomed. Pete.

What type of leather is it?
I suspect it is aniline style leather if you have a water stain.
You may need an antibacterial cleaner to get rid of any smell - Em Ckean is god fir this and us safe to use on leather.
As far as the stain goes regular leather cleaners are very unlikely to fix this particularly ones off the shelf.  We have specialist Aniline cleaners and stain removers which work on absorbent leathers and will now actually remove stains previously thought impossible.
Photos would help so I can see the extent of the problem
Hope this helps
Judyb

P.S.  For future reference it us best to damp down the whole cushion while it us still damp rather than drying as this will help to reduce the likelihood of a stain happening.
