There are mainly 4 (well technically 5 if you include modular(and pedantic like sunshine windows)) types of pole
Lets use gardiners as an example as people may wet themselves if i dont

Base level - tends to made from fibre glass (heavy, whippy/bendy but gets you working)
Next level up - tends to be a carbon/fibre glass composite - gardiners clx range (decent budget pole)
Mid to top range - carbon pole - gardiners slx range - light and reasonably rigid
Top level (if discounting modular) - usually a higher grade carbon - gardiners extreme range - very light and rigid

(Modular poles are usually for high level work

In a nutshell thats an idiots guide to poles (no offence)  ;D

So if money is no problem, go for an extreme and the height you require
Why don't you have a quick google before making stupid comments?

That makes 5 including modular you Donkey  ;D

But don't forget the supermax range from Gardiners too. Will get you at a greater height than slx but a lot whippier than the extreme
To climb mount fuji you must first find a path

Unfortunately on this forum your only going to get reviews on Gardiner poles, which is a pity because I'm sure
there are other poles out there that could be better.
I certainly wouldn't mind a similar pole to the Gardiner range but with a better clamp.

If cost is not important, look at the ionics range, there is an other world other than gardiner.

I have the nlite himodulas carbon pole with extensions that takes me to 65 ft. Its by far the best pole i have used. Although i havnt used an extreme 47 but i can recomend the nlite carbon or himod carbon as both good sturdy well made poles.

If you were interested in another brand of poles there are the Phoenix range.

They basically have the same types of poles.

A hybrid (part carbon - part fibreglass) is what most people start with.. (mostly) and then move to a full carbon or better, but most of us who have had both (me included) would rather have taken everyone else s advice and bought a full carbon first as they are the best day to day poles.

But when yours starting out most of the beginners dont have hundreds to fork out from the start.
