as kevin has stated, use the penetrating type sealers if possible, cheaper acrylic water based sealers may even suffice, don't use any kind of expensive PU (even resiblock natural stone!) as they are usually straw coloured and will turn the lovely white granite the same  ;D

Thx kevin

Can't get the you tube vid to work off the iPad, so will try again tomorrow.

Looks good, is it worth giving it a polish before sealing ?

Just need a couple of answers

When using the acidic cleaner do you just scrub it in or use a rotary?

When washing down do you need the PW or just a good hosing down do ?

And can I apply the sealer on wet stone or does it have to be dry?

The job is 60 miles from base so need to factor in a whole day or 2 trips...

Cheers

I can guess Kevins answer.
Mine would be  a bucket ,brush ,brick acid, bleach and a pressure washer. ( Be warned bleach and brick acid should never meet ;D)
The stone need to be dry to apply the sealer (I have in mind).

Chris

Sometimes I lose the will to live when I see posts like this! I don't know if you do it to try and wind me up or not! For the life of me I cannot understand any Pro worth their salt advising people to use powerful building/ brick acids!  Have you even considered the implications of this type of advice? Or do you think you are being helpful?  If so add the rest of the advice required for your solution such as fumes, disposal, PPE etc etc.

If you believe that brick acid even comes close to a controlled buffered acid cleaner that took nearly 3 years to develop I feel sorry for you. Moreover you  offer advice and knock products having never even tried them or compared them. At least I have tried and tested the alternatives you offer and know the results.

No where have I knocked your products (although I cannot figure why Aqua mix was the best in the world and now it never gets a mention?)...PPE and safe disposal goes without saying(your product or my method).
I am not suggesting he pours neat hydrochloric acid all over it. You use your product diluted to the job in hand ...so do I.

Educate me about your product against my method ...I love to learn .

Oh for f*** sake,

I'll email you direct Kev

I'd rather not be in the middle of a 'handbags at dawn' showdown.

For my part I don't want to ruin someone's granite patio. I also need to have some idea of time scale because I will have to factor in a return journey if the granite needs to dry out before sealing.

Use an impregnating sealer...The surface  will need to dry out before it can be applied.
It will be a two day job. one to prep the surface and one to seal it. A job like that is a days work split over two days.

Nothing wrong with Aqua Mix other than they have been bought out by Quikrete and are no longer importing to UK or Europe and therefore I took the opportunity to approach Miracle whom whilst we were dealing with Aqua Mix would not deal with us as the two companies were Arch Enemies. I tried to get Miracle Products years ago but they wouldn't play ball because of Aqua Mix.  That said you are welcome as previously offered a full set of samples to play with ;D ;D ;D  Lets face it must be better than dressing up games ;D ;D ;D ;D
