Domestic Cleaning - Standards / Cleaning Techniques
« on: September 30, 2014, 08:22:45 am »
Hi All,

First post, great forum by the way!

I am looking for cleaning services to a certain standard. Its like anthing in life,, there are many ways to skin a cat etc.

Are there any high end cleaning companies out there? Just like how you get car washes for £10 but you can also get them for £50 or £100 depending on what standard your after.

Any help is welcome.

Thanks

No one is going to say 'my service is mediocre, just good enough, we get by'. everyone thinks they are where it is all at and their service is the best

What quantifies as a high end service to you may be something completely different to me.

High end residential, high end commercial?

For a 1st post it is a little vague but interesting.

I would ask you 'why the question and where are you at. Are you high end?'

I had heard you would do anyones end for £100  :o clean or not  ;)

Most customers want just good enough for as little as just good enough costs

Hi,

Thanks for the responses to date. My definition of high end can probably be explained better. so here goes.....

For example:

Vacuuming - Most cleaning companies I have seen use the cheapest vacuum cleaner you can possibly buy - Henry or similar. Are there any cleaning companies that use better vacuum cleaners?

The technique to hoover a room -  Are there companies out there which will hoover the  tops of skirting boards and inbetween the carpet meets the skirting boards without having to ask them to do so?

Cleaning a shower room -  As parts of the UK are in hard-water areas there is usually a lot of lime scale in sinks / baths /taps. I know from experience that products such as Viakal work better for my home then Cif bathroom cleaner....Are there any companies out there that have the knowledge of cleaning products?

So High end is not about money its more about techniques of cleaning and knowledge of products.

Your thoughts please.

So do you know how to VACUUM a room ?  Tell us about carpet grain and its effect on the vacuum process. I use a Sebo and the reason why is answered in the previous question. The skirting boards / carpet interface is done with a crevice tool and yes we do that.
You ask about cleaning products and mention "off the shelf" products - I have extensive knowledge of proper cleaning methods, products and whats more important - their active ingredients. If you need to provide a proper service you should provide a msds sheet for each product you carry - do you provide these for viakal and CIF. By the way the tds of the water here is around 380.
