About a year ago or more got a call "Seen you cleaning windows in the close where I live. I really like what you do, you clean the doors and all the plastic, can you let me know how much you charge to clean my windows?"
Passed by no one in. Windows not been cleaned for a long time. Pile of black rubbish bags round the back, large heap of used disposable nappies on the ground beneath the upper bathroom window.
Weren't too impressed but only been going a few months so thought work is work etc.. anyway left quote heard nothing so forgot about it.
Month ago got a call "You clean windows near where I live, you left me a quote a while ago can you clean mine next time your around?"
Asked the usual do you want a regular service we only take on new customers who want a regular service. "Oh yes she said, every month"
Pulls into the close says to the missus "We've got another to clean in here." What number says she, takes a look points out the house. "No she says, that's the Asian woman who asked me a couple of months ago to do a one off clean (Eid). I told her we only have so many time slots so we don't do one off cleans."
Packs up driving off, mobile rings, "Hello it's No. 39 you were supposed to clean my windows this time."
"Sorry but you told my wife you only wanted a one off clean."
No I didn't was the reply.
Well I say "If you wanted a regular window cleaner why didn't you respond to my quote and you've seen us cleaning here every month, surely you could have asked any time"
End call, next job.
Gets home answering machine flashing.
"Message for the window cleaner. You are the most Vile, Rude, Ignorant window cleaner I have ever met! There are hundreds of brilliant window cleaners I can call any time to clean my windows. We are so delighted that we chose not to engage you and your shoddy useless window cleaning service!"
Great business if it weren't for the customers
