Fixed hose reels killing my bumper
« on: September 19, 2014, 08:45:21 pm »
I do like my fixed hose reel but im rubbing through the rear bumper is this just part of having the reel fixed ?

Every time i pull the hose off the reel before i start to prevent the bumper rubbing it just gets in a tangled mess :-[

Can you not park so you don't pull against the plastic? Must be a pain in the arse when you're pulling.

Agree with Vin,

Or put a piece of checker plate over that area

Why don't you have a quick google before making stupid comments?

As Jake says, just park further down the road so the back of the van's pointing in the general direction of the house you're cleaning.

Rollers?
They are nice but how many 25 litre barrels can you fit in one?

Rollers are pretty big. I'd guess at least twice as many drums as DoleQueen gets in his chiqachento..

Im thinking about fitting external ports so i can have the best of both worlds.

Some of the roads i work on are tight for parking so the hose always comes out the side  :-\

Can't believe no on has said it's an easy solution, just pull hose out as much as you think you will need from behind van then your not gonna rub it against the side of bumper !!!!

Done that and the hose ends up in a pile of knots.

I'd rather park 30 yards away from a customer and pull towards them (reels fixed in van) than do any kind of weird manoeuvre with the hose.  Hose tangles every single time you give it a chance.

New 1/4 bumper £20 if that. Price of hose ports and holes in your van I would stick with what you have.

Thats what I do, Never have a problem nor do I have marks on my van like you do.  Plus it saves muscle ache from all tugging of the hose  ::)roll
