There is no law against having your running your business through your current account (in your personal name). Done it for the last 5 years no trouble, and my bank are aware of it. I know stacks of others who do the same.
Option 1: Have a business account and pay their charges
Option 2: Open up another current account (in my name) and have no charges?!
Option 2 for me all day long for me. If some wish to only have a business account, fair play, but it's not for everyone. We run and manage our own businesses by whatever means. If paying in cheques their is no charge. Saying that we don't have many cheques as we always push BACS payments, which most businesses/domestic customers are happy with. 99% pay by BACS. Domestic customer usually pay after the clean whilst we are their so we can see it going in our bank.
We have some large chains we do work for, schools, NHS offices etc not one flinch when we give them bank details.
That's how we receive payments and run our business! Simples. Not to everyone's taste but its ours!
