Got this text today from a 1st clean we did a couple of weeks ago.

Hi it's xxxx here from xxxxx. Can I cancel my monthly agreement please. I wasn't completely happy with the windows because they wasn't polished after or squeeged off after the rince. Thank tho.

Thing is she approached us doing a house 2 doors down so it was obvious what we were doing. My guess is she just wanted a one off.

Send her a text back saying well we agreed a price
Based on monthly cleaning, had you of said you only
Wanted a one off clean the price would have been doubled"

Delete the text and block her number, not worth worrying about.

In future charge double for ALL first cleans.

We always charge at least 50% more for first cleans,
but customers agree to a min 4 cleans when signing our contract,

Plenty of loon customers about. You have to trudge through the poope to get to the cream a lot of the time.

I would say most of the window cleaners in the area have received the same message at one time or
another in other words you wont have been the first.
Iv had a few over the years but never get too annoyed, at the most you only lose a few extra minutes of work time.
I'm not a great fan of charging extra on first cleans when trying to build a round, I just think at times it can give the
wrong impression.
If a customer recommends me to a friend or neighbour(which most do) then that covers the extra cost for me.
Different when your round is full and you don't care if you get the custom or not.

Good luck enforcing a contract for window cleaning. Must be easy getting punters to sign contracts when you first meet them.

Think I'll leave that for now.

Domestic contract breaker.... I'm not satisfied with the standard of your work so wont be paying for any
further cleans.
Like I always say contracts for domestic customers are a waste of paper and time.

This is so true,  my first 2 years I was building like mad and just charged normal prices,  even for next doors one-offs. 

Now my round is full I can be picky and my time is for my customers (or those that will pay)  double prices for new customers and one offs.

strangely I have just started with my guttervac this week and did 3 cleans and charged LOW prices as I considered myself in the "learning stage"  but after a few more cleans I will double the price.

What about charging a customer a double clean as they have had there roof cleaned and are covered in grit and dirt. I clean roofs and always clean affected Windows including neighbors.
