The capacity is over a tonne so I would certainly hope the suspension and axel was designed for it.

The quoted payload for a pickup way well be more accurate than for a van in relation of its gvw (a 500l tank of water in my connect with 900kg payload puts me within 40kgs of gvw), but the problem i have with the notion of putting a tank in a double cab pickup, has to do with the rear axle weight limit and weight distribution. A large tank is going to have most of its weight behind the rear axle, so will be, in effect, levering down on the axle more than simply the weight of water and tank. So while i don't doubt that a double cab pickup with a 500l tank and a 1000kg payload will be comfortably within the gvw, i suspect that the rear axle weight limit might be exceeded. Has anyone with a double cab pickup actually checked this out?.
