I'm going to completely overhaul my website, its long overdue and I want a new one. There are a few companies/people who I am trying to decide between but wanted to ask what you think a reasonable price to pay is? It seems you can get a website built from £100 to £10,000, so apart from size and features what justifies the large price gap!

It will be a multi service website, 10 pages or around that mark, with a blog and all social media integrated etc, I will also need one off SEO or ongoing, still undecided.

I've had a few quotes, one for £2000.

I'd be interested to know what you think.

Another big thumbs up for Nate

To a point you get what you pay for - a budget website often (but not always) gets less results than a pro one,.. but at the same point you quickly reach a level where for a small company with a limited geographical reach the expenditure can't possibly be justified by the results - 2k would in my opinion be at the very top limit of this range & you'd probably get best value for money with half that budget or even less.

Drop me an e-mail if you want & I'll talk you through a few options & ideas. info@avondhu-internet.com   ;D

Cheers Nat, will do.
I nearly called you today.

Tbh you are one of four I'm deciding on, I've spoke with you briefly before. In particular the website for Concept I think is one of the best I've seen.

Chris, I take it you also got an email recently about buying that domain for £500 from some "web designer" or some rubbish.

I just found the email

Dear Sirs,
We are selling the newly acquired domain name Drive-Cleaning.co.uk This is the very first time since 1997 that the domain has ever been available on the open market.
Most of our customers are now finding that generic domain names such as this pay for themselves within weeks rather than months by virtue of the extra business that they drive to their websites by means of type in traffic and greatly enhanced search engine positions.
The domain is currently on sale for just £495.00
Would you like to go ahead with this?
Best regards,

Martyn Horne
Sales Director

I offered him £5 for it, I don't think he took me seriously.

£495 for a domain????  :o :o :o

For a window cleaner, I doubt there's a domain in existence that could justify even half that price - and certainly not that one!!

You need to decide on how your website will "market" for you.

A great looking website doesn't always bring in the enquiries you need.

You need to add "fuel" to the website to make it work - we don't have the best "looking" website but for the type of work we want it "brings in" a lot of new enquiries each week - and you can see from the case studies we get a lot of work....

Don't copy what everyone else does - and don't think by changing a few words will make it "different" you need to think outside the box
