Stolen Rotovac
« on: September 10, 2014, 11:11:25 am »
Hi guys, back in July it was reported that I had my van broken into, a rotovac and an orbits rotary was taken.
I have been monitoring e-bay daily to see if it went on. This week a listing caught my eye it was a rotovac being sold in Irchester Northamptonshire which is only about 15 miles from me. I contacted the seller to ask if I could come over to view it he replied via eBay and said yes. Last night 9th sept I called him he didn't sound right from the off and was very cagey, he said I would need to speak to someone else about it and would not give his address. He said he would get this other guy to phone me. After the call ended within a couple of mins he removed the listing. The listing had only until 8.30 pm to run to it was only up to £400 and had a lot of interest in it. My guess is he matched my mobile with my website and in hindsight I should of used someone else's phone.

I am 99% certain that was my stolen item and I want you guys to be aware that it is trying to be sold on. If anyone buys a second hand rotovac please check the serial number if it's 5517715 it's nicked.

If anyone was bidding on this or knows any information with regard to his address or name I am offering £500 reward to any person who passes me information in strict confidence leading to its return.

I am trying to make this as hard for the seller to sell this as I can,at the end of the day guys if he can get £1200-£1300 for a stolen rotovac then word will quickly spread throughout the scum thieving community and we will see more carpet cleaners vans targeted in the future.

The police are looking into it but seem pretty disinterested to me, I have been able to give them his eBay name and his mobile phone number.

Any information would be greatly appreciated please call me on 07958 324415

Many thanks
Ian

Try to contact eBay.I believe they can help you if you can prove this is your machine.

Hi IVan,

Unfortunately I could only prove it was mine if I could of checked the serial number.
I am waiting to see what the police do today but as of yet nothing.

Thanks for the link, I appreciate your help.

Ian
