« on: September 02, 2014, 07:47:26 pm »
whats the best item i can use to fit onto my clx poles with qloc brush head, to stop my waterflow ,  i know of the aquadapter, but theres another one, i think aqua tap,    the one where you twist your pole + brush to stop your water flow.        anyone got one + a link to site.    + what if any extra bits i would need to add to my clx poles.
sorry to drabble on.

its about time i added one , everyone seems to have done so.    save me bending down to turn backpack on and off all the time im moving about a property.
cheers.

Alex - do you recommend the aqua tap for the end of the pole, I know your not keen on the aquadaptor

I much prefer the aqua tap so much better to use and control water flow.

Currently we do not recommend either the Aqua-Dapter or the Aquatap on the end of our poles although they do both work on them. However changes are afoot so this may alter.

Anyone tried the Unger HiFlo control valve. On sale at WCW try or avoid? Currently use the valves from Gardiner.

I cannot say at this moment what the time scale is, but it is in hand.

he wont recommend someone elses product. Aqua Dapter is good but some times you have to mess wit it as it can fall between full on and off. If Alex brings something else out. I am sure it will be better

Unger flow control bought from WCW. Tried it today on old pole hose and new all season hose, it works and I like the fact it can slide up and down the pole and can be easily be removed but only time will tell if it damages the pole hose.

Sounds very promising.

If possible Alex can you design something that controls the flow of the water but doesn't add any weight to the top of the pole? Lol

I've stopped using aquadapter and aqua taps for that reason. I spend all this money on carbon fibre poles and then I stick on more weight and leverage on the top few inches of the pole.

I just use a valve on the end of my microbore hose now. It does the job but would like something else.

That's why I've tried the Unger flow control. Adding weight to the top isn't for me. Need something efficient and durable.

You could also consider a RF add on
http://www.springltd.co/node/115

These RF units have a range of 40 - 60 meters so would work well with a back pack.

Ian Am I right in thinking your one shot will not workaround the back of a house if my van is in the front.

Like the majority of RF devices (including your vehicle fob) these are line of sight and depending on which antenna option is used range is between 40 - 100 meters. Obstructions can effect the RF signal so yes a building may block the signal between the transmitter and receiver.
However I have spoken to people who have used these from behind a building with the vehicle in the front as the signal can bounce off roof antenna or pass through glass.

The higher the transmitter and antenna are, the better the signal reception.

Your unit. Could one mount it on the roof of a van or will rain be a problem.

Yes the unit could be roof mounted with a gland to seal the hole in the van. The One shot stand alone unit I have highlighted is an add on device as in the following video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=52QsSAWz0Rc.
There is also a range of factory fitted RF controllers. http://www.springltd.co/NODE/69

So if I wanted to retro fit my van I would remove the small an-tenner from the unit extend the wires and fit it through the van roof. Yes?

In effect yes a Gland is supplied with the unit that allows you to roof mount the antenna and maintain a seal.
