Rob , what is your verdict about the Thor ?

I am getting more commercial work so need a bigger a better machine . Seen the various options 15 to 41LPM  !

Going to keep  my 21 LPM  for 2nd operator

Don't buy one!!

I don't use it and have never used it. It's in the other van, Matt uses it all the time and I have two lads working from it next week.

I have 35 LPM on mine and I very rarely split the flow, for two operators.

Jumping from 21 LPM up to 40 LPM sounds phenomenal but in truth with two operators it is only the same as you have now.

I would buy two Zetas @ 30 LPM and if you ever need proper grunt then join the two together for 60 LPM,

Must be cheaper to go that way as well.

I am probably going to be buying a new van over the winter and this is the way I am going.

Unless you have worked from a much bigger machine and then had to split the flow it is difficult to make you see the reasoning.

That last line doesn't read properly.

What I am trying to say is I have gotten used to the full flow of the H & M and if I used the Thor everyday I would be used to that, when you have to share it you don't gain because you are splitting the speed of working with the flow.

On these bigger flow machines you can clean quicker and deeper and I don't see the gain on putting two people on a job.

Does that make sense?

When you can clean the same amount as two people, with one person because you're not sharing the flow!

Got there in the end!!!

Yes Rob , i understand what you are saying

Is the Thor not the big brother of the Zeta ? So i would of thought it was a superior machine

Certainly cheaper going down the Zeta route. Did not know you could join them together you techy !

Rob , you can get two Zetas for the price of one Thor
30LPM Zeta is petrol with 18 HP
30LPM Thor is diesel with 23 HP
Would the diesel not have a longer shelf life than the petrol.
Dont care about fuel cost ,

The Thor is the big brother, it has more flow, so could be considered the better machine but when you're splitting the flow it gains nothing.

I would only buy machines for one operator moving forward and they would have to be a minimum of 30 LPM

Just to explain the picture.

From the left - flow in from two hoses, on each split 100 LPM non return valves, down to one outlet,

Thanks Rob, i did not want to sound thick and ask ! ;D

Rob does the cost  between the machines justify the price difference ?

Confused !!

What are the differences?

£3800 21lpm 170bar Zeta diesel

£3600 15LPM 200bar Zeta diesel

Does not seem high flow or pressure on their diesel machines (10HP)

Yes - I've just been checking. They don't do one @ 30 LPM & 200 bar.

Well that's a game changer!!

I know the machines and because they don't do the 30 LPM it would be the 30 LPM petrol then.

I wonder why they don't fill the gap between the diesel Zeta & Thor?

On the Thor I had to have a bar welded onto it to basically support the outlets from the pump.

It broke, fortunately not shearing the thread in the pump.

When you pay top dollar, you should not have to modify it and would  expect it to be more robust is my view. Ed

I have a 30lpm petrol zeta and its a good machine. Just had it serviced and it runs sweet. its a bit of a beast to be honest. Briggs engine. Goes through about £25 - £30 a day on petrol full tilt. I only use it as a back up machine.

If i ever split the flow, its only to run 2 18" whirlaways (your only getting 15lpm per operator so can only run 18") to clean larger areas faster, then i switch back to single operator to use the 30lpm for the rinse down. makes the rinsing so much faster.
