« on: August 28, 2014, 05:58:35 pm »
On the mandate it says
"Choose a password for Gocardless" (so that we can remember you)
Who is that for and why.
Many thanks

Its worth while telling customers to remember their gocardless details as other services will end up using it. Maybe they have a gardener, cleaner, bin cleaner etc etc. I have told a lot of customer about gocardless and the benefits and we are having a massive drive on it now.

So far 0 customers on it LMAO :D

Gave all my customers an explanation letter and told them of the benefits and how my fees would lower and this would mean I could continue to freeze my prices. The freezing the prices bit us what worked.
But as H20 stated, I told my customers that this would be the only method of payment that I would be accepting soon. It was a subtle way of saying get on board or find another captain!

Hi there,
My husband and I are not keen to let you have free access to our bank account. we have always paid on time and are happy to pay the money directly into your account by bank transfer rather than by cheque, but not by GOCARDLESS.
Thank you,

For me gocardless is a additional payment option for all cusomers, but is mandatory for serial very late/bad payers.

Most of my customers pay by bacs within 14 days as stated on my payment slips

So long as they pay on time I prefer to let them carry on as they are. GoCardless takes a week to clear, if theyre good payers I let them carry on. A good number of my customers I havent considered giving them the GC option as it would delay their payment compared to how theyre paying currently.

I would however feel the need to tell her that you wouldnt have free access to their bank account as any transaction they can cancel and youd have no more access to it than the utility companies with the Direct Debit guarantee to boot. Silly woman.

Yeah, I told her I'm happy for her to pay anyway she likes. I sent your email to customers who still pay by cheque as they are a bit of a pain in the arse.

It's funny people's attitude toward window cleaners. I would never overcharge anyone, whereas it's estimated that energy companies have hundreds of millions of their customers money due to overcharging. People are happy to set up a direct debit with them though.
