Storm 200psi or 800psi
« on: August 20, 2014, 09:05:05 pm »
I've been after a new machine for a while and have decided to buy the airflex storm but just not sure which size pump I should order. I don't offer hard floor cleaning so don't quite see the point in ordering a storm with the 800psi .I know if your running 100ft of pipe the 800psi will be beneficial however in reality I never normally run anymore than 25ft of hose only on the occasional 3 storey house. Does anybody have the storm with 200psi  and wish they had the 800 one and equally does anyone have the 800psi  and wish they had ordered the 200psi.  ???

not starting another Storm vs Enforcer thread but ...

your 200psi storm is just a 200psi pump and two 6.6 motors for 2350+

you can get a 400psi Enforcer with immersion heater and electro motors for  about 100 less ...

you would be mad i say  :)

If you get the 200psi pump its cheaper than the 800psi. Also cheaper if you don't need the remote and pump out thingy

I'm not interested in the enforcer mainly because of ashbys poor customer service. just wanted to know any advantages / disadvantages of the different pumps

Fair enough ... no Enforcer  ..
I run about 200 to 250 . It might depend on your tools , jetting , way of working . But you might have enough . Or get them to fit a 400 .

Great thanks guys, I have seen that type when googling. Weird how Cleansmart said I couldn't get one for the Turbo when I called them?

Radek - I find the hoses on the Airflex a bit awkward for dropping into an external tank as they arent very flexible and keep wanting to come out. Have you extended them with some more flexible hosing?

No, its very flexi, original from cleansmart.
On the picture the valve is one the cap of the tank, before the job i do open the lid and thats it.

Spoke to Cleansmart this morning about the auto drain.

Basically they are saying its not really worth it unless you have remote off/on with the machine as otherwise you have to go back to the machine to turn it off and can just dump the dirty tank manually - makes sense!

The Airflex Turbo (triple vac) does not come with remote control and they do not advise running it off plug in remote controls as when the 2 vacs turn on at the same time on one cord that big initial amp draw can start causing problems - again makes sense to me as thats why i have never used the remote plugs in case it was a problem

So thats that then!!

Think, if you have a waste tank on board then I would still do that.

Radek

Could you post a picture of your machine set up ready to work in the van with the tank also what do you use to empty the dirty water into or do you have a hose that extends the dump hose.

Thanks Jim
