« on: August 01, 2014, 10:07:46 am »
Quoted a job the other day. £14. then she asked how much for inside her conservatory. £15

Got the go ahead so one of my lads went yesterday. No one home but conny left undone as arranged, Job done.

Last night I got a call.

Mrs B .. Hello you cleaned my house today.
Me...Yes we did.
Mrs B... There has been a mistake. I have received a bill for £29
Me... Yes thats correct
Mrs B... No I was quoted £14, £15 with the inside of the conny.
Me...  You thought we were cleaning the insides of your conservatory for £1?
Mrs B... Yes
Me... It would have taken my guy about 20 - 30 mins to clean that do you agree?
Mrs B... Yes
Me ... so you think £2 an hour is about right for a labour charge?
Mrs B... silence
Me..... Leave it with me I will check with my guy and check the vehicle tracker to see how long he was there and get back to you.  (gives her time to think)
Mrs B... OK thanks.

I call her today

Me.. Hello its Neil the window cleaner
Mrs B... Oh hello I have been thinking.
Me... Really.
Mrs B... yes I think I may have misunderstood I will transfer the £29 today if thats ok?
Me .. Thank you yes thats fine... see you next month.
Mrs B.. Yes thanks, Bye.

I have always said. Window cleaning would be a great job if we didn't need customers. :-)

I've been caught out with similar in the past.

I now say (for example) the conservatory insides are an additional £15 so the total price will be £29.

You have to be very clear with some people. NO its £X amount for that and £x amount for that. That's a total of £xx :)
